A Message From Spirit…

Last week, Spirit came through with a channeled message that felt like it wasn’t only meant for me. It felt like something to share.

A reminder to look beyond what we can see, hear and understand with our usual senses—and to remember that we are in constant relationship with the world around us.

This is what came through:

The Universe is your Playground.

You can interact with any part of it.

As humans, we tend to interact primarily with one another and with the structures we’ve created—the home, the car, the job, the business, the phone, the screen.

But there is an entire living world around us that many of us have forgotten how to be in relationship with.

You can speak to the trees. You can speak to the animals. You can speak to the weather. You can speak to the grass. You can speak to the stars.

And perhaps more importantly, you can learn to listen.

Because communication doesn’t always arrive in words.

It can arrive through the animal that suddenly appears.

The plant you keep noticing.

A change in the weather.

The way the sun hits your eyes.

The breeze moving the hairs on your skin.

A flower opening.

A bird calling from the same branch every morning.

Even the tiny mouse nibbling and scurrying through the grass.

What if life has been communicating with us all along, and we’ve simply forgotten that there are languages other than words?

Learning to listen is subtle.

It asks us to slow down enough to notice what we feel. To become curious about our inner knowing, our senses, our emotions, our intuition.

Not everything has to be a sign. Not everything needs to mean something.

Sometimes a bird is simply a bird.

And still, when we become deeply present with the living world, something begins to happen.

We begin to feel in relationship with life again.

Spend even a few moments each day showing up with presence in nature and you begin to notice its magic, its beauty, its aliveness and its playfulness.

But nature doesn’t only show us beauty.

It shows us the whole thing.

Birth and death.

Creation and destruction.

Stillness and movement.

Tenderness and ferocity.

The flower blooming and eventually returning to the earth.

The bird singing—and the bird catching another creature for its meal.

Nothing is excluded.

There is an entire spectrum of emotion, teaching and experience available to us when we become willing to witness the living world.

And perhaps this is why we feel less alone when we begin making a ritual of listening.

We remember that we are not standing outside of the universe asking it for guidance.

We are inside of it.

Participating in it.

In relationship with it.

Maybe the universe has never been silent.

Maybe we are simply remembering how to listen.

As I sat with this message afterward, I kept thinking about how often Spirit speaks through the ordinary.

Not always through a grand revelation, but through the things that keep catching our attention.

An animal crossing our path.

A bird we suddenly begin seeing everywhere.

A particular tree.

A feeling in the wind.

Something we can’t quite explain, but continue to notice.

So I’m curious… What came up for you as you read this?

Has an animal, plant, element or part of the natural world been making itself known to you lately?

What have you been noticing?

The invitation is simply to notice. If you feel called, reply and tell me.

I’d love to hear what has been showing up in your world.
